Membership Levels
The Nova Scotia Road Builders Association offers three membership categories designed to reflect the structure of the industry and support both contractors and suppliers across the province.
Ordinary Membership
Ordinary membership is available to contractors engaged in road building and heavy construction within Nova Scotia.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be qualified to do business in Nova Scotia
- Maintain a permanent office within the province
- Perform maintenance and equipment repair work (winter and summer) within Nova Scotia
- Make reasonable efforts to purchase within the province, giving preference to Associate members
Annual Fees (Effective December 1, 2025)
Fees are self-assessed on an honour system based on volume of work in road building and heavy construction.

Provisional Membership
Provisional membership is intended for new applicants who meet the criteria for Ordinary membership but have not previously been members of the Association.
Applicants must:
- Be qualified to do business in Nova Scotia
- Be engaged in road building or heavy construction within the province
Provisional membership is granted for a period of one year. At the end of that term, members in good standing are eligible to transition to Ordinary membership.
Annual Fee: $1,901.81 + HST
Associate Membership
Associate membership is available to businesses that support the road building industry through products or services.
This includes:
- Dealers in construction equipment
- Suppliers of materials for road building and heavy construction
- Providers of professional construction-related services
Applicants must be actively engaged in their field prior to applying.
Annual Fee: $661.50 + HST
